Useful Wedding Hints and Tips Courtesy of our Wedding Coordinator
When you think of weddings in Bath, you think of romance, history, grandeur and decadence.
All this doesn’t happen by chance, so if you are considering hosting your special day in the area then you can trust Homewood Park’s wedding coordinator Michaela Crouch for all the advice you need.
Less Stress Dress Shopping
The moment the bride is zipped, laced or strapped into her dress is unforgettable. Whether you believe in the tradition of the gown or not, it’s hard to deny that the dress is a key focus of the day. Michaela’s advice? “Don’t take too many people with you. Don’t try on an excessive amount of dresses and avoiding scheduling too many try-ons in one day. Break it down and don’t rush it. When you find your dress, you’ll know!”
Finicky About Florals?
When it comes to choosing a florist you can be spoilt for choice. Michaela’s advice for the initial flower hunt is simple. “Reach out to a few florists, review their online pages and ask yourself if they suit the style you are trying to achieve. If not, find one that is and remember that cutting your budget here will make a visible impact on the finished product. There is a big difference between a David Austin rose and a standard rose both in style and price.”
Making The Venue Work For You
So, what things should a bride look for in her wedding venue? Not only does it encompass and host the day, it can be convenient for the vows and guests who have travelled from further afield. “This is down to personal preference but the key elements I would look for is the ability to be flexible, accommodation, excellent food and friendly but professional service from the venue staff.”
Co-operating with a Coordinator
Coordinators love their job and absolutely relish the challenge of pulling together a special day. But what can brides do to make Michaela’s job easier? “It’s not about me at all but it is always easier for me setting up when couples place their decorations and activities in set boxes, keeping items grouped together. Organisation is key! Last minute changes can cause confusion. You have all your files up to date, have carried out team meetings and you have it all set in your head – then there are changes and tweaks. It’s bound to happen so it’s never an issue. When you’re in overdrive on the wedding day, you sometimes you have to pause and stop yourself remembering the change in plan.”
