Feast Your Eyes on Bath this October
Here’s all you need to know about The Great Bath Feast this autumn…
The Great Bath Feast will take place from 1st to 9th October 2016.
We have a wealth of pride in our elegant two-rosette restaurant in Bath here at Homewood. Our incredible Head Chef (Simon Addison) and his team sure know a thing or two about fine food therefore we’re over the moon about the return of the Great Bath Feast this autumn.
Returning for yet another year, the Great Bath Feast is an amazing opportunity to sample some amazing seasonal local produce as well as soaking in the beautiful surroundings of the ancient city of Bath. From quirky independent restaurants, pubs and cafes to local food producers, Bath’s finest foodies will be joining forces to put together a scrumptious week of food, drink and fun!
Added to the fantastic festival this year is the ‘Bath Bites Food & Drink Fair’, which will take place in the Abbey Churchyard throughout the festival. The fair will showcase an amazing array of hot and cold food options to enjoy as well as a dazzling one night only event called the Gin Palace. The Gin Palace will be held at Bath’s Holburne Museum and showcase over 100 different types of gin (yes you read correctly), and includes some tasty local fare!
Alongside the big feasting and a bite of Bath, there will also be a delicious assortment of other events including;
- A mini cheese festival at the Abbey, aptly titled ‘Blessed are the Cheesemakers’, which will be showcasing a great selection of stinky local delicacies.
- The Demuth’s Vegetarian Cookery School, the UK’s leading vegetarian school.
- Prestigious appearances from culinary geniuses such as Anna Del Conte and Tom Kerridge.
Or are you looking for something a little more hoppy?
The Campaign for Real Ale has organised a uniquely boozy walking tour of Bath. It makes pit stops at FIFTEEN (again yes, you read correctly) of the finest historic watering holes across the city, some dating back hundreds of years.
And wait for it…
On top of all of this glorious foodie fabulousness, Queen Square will be transformed into a festival paradise thanks to Hartley Farm’s Tipis. The Square will become the hub of the Great Bath Feast, offering some of the following;
- Butchery demonstrations.
- Deli-style homemade produce from the Farm Shop.
- Cooking with Hartley Farm’s ‘Big Green Egg’ barbeques.
The striking tipis are the perfect atmosphere for foodie antics with a festival feel.
